The European Union’s (EU) Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA) was a hot topic during Paris Blockchain Week in April 2025. Jason Allegrante, Chief Legal Compliance Officer at Fireblocks, discussed MiCA from a service provider’s perspective. Allegrante noted that MiCA is leading to a migration of companies in the Eurozone from an unregulated environment to one with significant compliance obligations. He sees this challenge as an opportunity for Fireblocks as a service provider. While MiCA marks significant progress for the crypto industry, stablecoin restrictions require reevaluation.
